Gabrielle Union kinda blames herself for break with Dwayne + Gives relastionship advice

Gabby's boyfriend of many years Dwyane Wade got his side chick pregnant while on a 'break' with the actress...and she kinda blames herself.

The newly engaged 41 year old beauty tells Glamour magazine
When Dwyane and I broke up briefly in 2013, it was because of distance and scheduling. I finished filming Being Mary Jane, then I flew to Vegas right away to start shooting Think Like a Man Too. I couldn't take time off, and I missed some quality togetherness we desperately needed. Over the summer, I reassessed priorities. I'd always wanted an awesome career with back-to-back projects, but I realized I wasn't willing to sacrifice my relationship for it. Moving forward, I decided my work schedule has to make sense for our family. Bottom line: If an issue's a deal breaker, it's a deal breaker. If your relationship isn't something you're willing to give up and you can compromise, do so.

Caverton Helicopter expatriate manager resigns over unpaid salaries of Nigerian staff

An expatriate manager at Caverton Helicopters, has reportedly resigned from the company over the unfair treatment of his Nigerian colleagues during the yuletide season, PM News reports.
Surendra Bhagwandass, a Base Maintenance Manager at Caverton Helicopters, a company that has contracts spanning from Shell to Total, said he became frustrated that while he was being well taken care of, Nigerian workers were poorly paid and their salaries were sometimes delayed. He said it was a security breach not to pay people who work for oil companies.
“Shame on you guys,” he told Caverton management in an email distributed to most staff and obtained by a PM News correspondent.
“(I) heard from the people I work with that they are not paid for the festive season. This is a security breach as I now feel uncomfortable to travel and work with, while you guys have a merry time. Please have a heart as these people have family while you all enjoy the best. Being with your family and Happy.
“You all break record as the only Company in the World not to pay your workers.
“Shame on you guys,” the expatriate said.

But Doyin Alegbe, a Personal Assistant to Caverton Managing Director, Mr. Shola Falola, dismissed the letter saying that it was “a gross case of insubordination”

She said because expatriate workers are paid in dollars and Nigerian staff are paid in Naira, the company had challenges selling the dollars and this caused some delay in December.

She said everyone has now been paid.

She said Caverton does not discriminate between Nigerians and expatriate workers.
But some Nigerian workers who spoke with our correspondent said while expatriate staff are paid in dollars, Nigerian workers who put more effort and spend more hours at work, earn less.

Among the allegations, the staff said there was no salary structure and promotion was almost non existent for Nigerian workers.

The staff said while local workers are not given accommodation or security escorts, expatriates enjoy all the benefits but come to work late and leave before them.

“They earn dollars, we earn naira but we work more than them. Several staff have been attacked because you need to leave your house around 4 o’clock in the morning. There is no security for us. But they enjoy everything in our country,” a staff said, pleading anonymity.
The staff accused Caverton of promising oil companies such as SHELL that it will take good care of staff, but not doing so once the contract is signed.

“We signed a contract with SHELL for N94 billion,” he said, adding that the money doesn’t trickle down to Nigerian staff.

President Asks Sanusi to Resign over Leaked $49.8bn Letter,Sanusi replies by saying that says only two-thirds of Senate can remove him

CBN gov says only two-thirds of Senate can remove him

By Steve Omanufeme of THIS DAY

President Goodluck Jonathan has asked the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, to resign immediately on the grounds that the letter Sanusi wrote to him on the unremitted $49.8 billion oil revenue to the Federation Account, was leaked to former President Olusegun Obasanjo by the CBN governor.

But Sanusi who has denied leaking the letter to anyone, has refused to resign and informed the president during the heated telephone exchange that he could only be removed by two-thirds of the Senate as required by law.

THISDAY learnt that the president had called Sanusi and accused him of leaking the letter to Obasanjo, which enabled the latter to use it as one of many allegations he levelled against Jonathan in his letter titled: “Before It is Too Late”.

The president, who a source in the presidency said was very angry and was not prepared to allow Sanusi to proceed on his terminal leave in March, asked him to tender his resignation before the close of business last Tuesday.

However, Sanusi denied that he had leaked his letter to Obasanjo and made it abundantly clear he would not be forced out, except he is removed by two-thirds of the Senate.

He also told the president that the letter was available in the presidential villa, available in the finance ministry and available in the central bank and wondered how he (Sanusi) could have leaked the letter, which was so widely available, to a former two-term president of Nigeria who has his people all over the place.

Sanusi also expressed his surprise to the president that he was the one being asked to resign instead of the president to ask those responsible for the non-remittance of the funds to resign.
His response, which threw the president aback, degenerated into a heated exchange during which Sanusi told the president that as the federal government’s Chief Economic Adviser, mandatorily required to bring issues of critical economic importance to the attention of the president, he had done a patriotic duty to his country.

“He informed the president that it is necessary to deal with the issues and not the letter that had been leaked since it has since been established that it was not $49.8 billion that had not been remitted to the Federation Account, but $10.8 billion, which was still in dispute and by any stretch of imagination was still a large sum.

“Sanusi felt he was being forced out for doing his patriotic duty to his country by drawing attention to the unaccounted funds. He only has two months to go, so this was a ploy to force him out and destroy his career and reputation.

“He knew this and for this reason, refused to throw in the towel as requested by the president,” a source familiar with the conversation said.
But the president was said to have remained adamant and insisted on the CBN governor’s resignation.

Following the exchange, Sanusi, another source said, briefed his close aides at the CBN and family of what had transpired between himself and the president.
The source said he did it to shield himself from harm, as he felt his life might be in danger for defying the direct order of the president.

When contacted Wednesday on the issue, the president’s Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, did not pick up or return THISDAY’s calls and text messages.

Also, efforts to get Sanusi and the CBN to speak on the matter met a brick wall.
Sanusi had written to the president in September informing him that, among other issues, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) had not remitted $49.8 billion of oil revenue to the Federation Account over a 19-month period.

Although the letter was not made public until December 4, 2013 when it was leaked, Obasanjo referred to it in his letter dated December 2, 2013, to the president, in which the former president also accused Jonathan of being clannish, destroying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), compiling a political watch-list of 1,000 people and training snipers to target opponents of the administration, among other allegations.
The president had since denied all of Obasanjo's claims in his rebuttal of the former president's letter.
Expectedly, Sanusi’s letter drew the ire of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), which called on the National Assembly to commence impeachment proceedings against the president.

In addition, the Senate directed its Committee on Finance to probe the contents of Sanusi’s letter.

However, Sanusi’s letter was immediately denied by NNPC, which accused the CBN governor of not only playing politics but also of being ignorant of the operations of the oil and gas sector.

Following NNPC’s repeated denials, a joint press conference was convened by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke and Sanusi, during which it was revealed that a reconciliation process was ongoing, and had so far established that it was not $49.8 billion that had not been repatriated to the Federation Account but $10.8 billion.

During the press conference, however, Sanusi attempted to distance himself from the statements made by Okonjo-Iweala and Alison-Madueke, stating that it was $12 billion that had not been remitted by NNPC.

But the finance minister immediately interjected, insisting that it was $10.8 billion that had not been remitted to the Federation Account and was still in dispute.

But it is not clear what would now happen to the CBN governor who has already indicated that he will leave office in March on a three-month terminal leave ahead of the expiration of his tenure in June.

He had earlier written to the president last year that he would not be seeking a second term.

Clearly the Jonathan presidency must be feeling uncomfortable with Sanusi's remaining five months in office in this political season.

As at last night, efforts were being made to reconcile the president and the CBN governor and create an orderly transition at the apex bank so as not to harm growing confidence in the Nigerian economy.

Is 38 years in prison appropriate for a teacher who slept with her 12yr old student?

Former teacher Ethel Anderson, 31, (pictured above) was found guilty and sentenced to 38 years in prison in December 2013 for having sex with her 12 year old student.

The married mother of one had sex with one of her students, whose identity is being kept secret because of his age (he was 12 at the time). The alleged abuse started in 2011 just one month after the teacher and the minor started a tutoring session in her home. During her trial last year, the boy, now 14, told the court that she started by kissing him and progressed to giving him oral sex.
"I felt like she was a girlfriend, I loved her and she said that I was her boyfriend and she loved me. She would rub on my legs, kiss on my ears, neck and stuff like that. We would tongue kiss. I lost my virginity to her. I told her to stop but she said she wanted me bad"
The boy's angry mother told the former 'teacher of the year', who worked as a language arts teacher at Mango Elementary School, in Florida, that she took her boy's innocence.
'Anger and hatred don't even begin to explain how I feel about what you took from my son. His innocence is lost forever.' She said in a statement read at the sentencing
Now there are people, especially blacks in America, who feel 38 years is too much to spend in prison for having sex with a minor...especially after a teacher, Laura Whitehurst (who is white) was sentenced to prison for 1 year and released after only 6 months for sleeping with three of her students and giving birth to a child fathered by one of them. Watch the people you leave you children with.

General Overseer’s Wife Resurrects After Doctors Confirmed Her Dead

The wife of the General Overseer and Founder of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Abeokuta, Ogun State, Rev. (Mrs) Folake Achudume, who doctors have confirmed dead has resurrected before she could be buried. The woman while narrating her story and testifying to the goodness of God in the presence of their congregation, said she was already confirmed dead by doctors and narrated how her spirit left her body and what she saw in another realm. Her husband also said, when doctors told him, his wife was dead as a result of the operation because she bled to death, said she didn’t die but went on a visit in faith. Below is part of what she said while giving her testimony.

“What I experienced was like being a drama piece. I saw myself coming out of my body, and going into a white cloud. I didn’t know where I was going, but I was asked to look down, only to see my husband, children been consoled, as my burial was been planned. I saw people crying.” “Later, I stretched my hand and I was taken to a glorious place, where I saw people in white garment welcoming me, telling me to come in. I joined them, but a big hand stretched out, with a voice saying the place is not for me,”

“I later found myself in another place, more glorious and beautiful, I was not allowed in again, but I was taken to a third place, where I was not allowed again. Then a voice came telling me to look down, and told me I should return to where I was coming from, but I was struggling to join the group. Then I heard a thunderous voice and it was at that point my eyes opened.”

“I stand to tell you that God has power over death. The consultants had confirmed that I bled to death after the operation. If you understand what I went through you will realise that life is vanity. By that experience everything in life to me has lost value. It was not a joke, I appreciate God, because God made me to understand the mystery of life,” she told the congregation.

Ondo lawmaker survives assasination attempt

An Ondo State House of Assembly member, Soji Akinkurolere, survived an assassination attempt on Monday January 6th at his home in Okitipupa in Ondo state thanks to one of his trusted aides.

Sahara Reporters reports that Mr Akinkurolere's aide foiled the assassination attempt when 5 gunmen raided the lawmaker's private residence. Akinkurolere escaped with his family, without harm.
"I was on the other side of the road when I saw a vehicle parked some distance from the residence with men inside," a neighbor in Okitipupa told SaharaReporters. "I was surprised when I saw a man, whom had been sitting in the front seat of the car, come down from the residence and start making phone calls. Immediately he dropped the calls, he tapped the other guys seated in the back seat and they headed to the home of Honorable Akinkurolere. The last thing I heard was sporadic gunshots."

The five gunmen turned up at residence Monday evening demanding to see the Assemblyman. An argument broke out with his aide, and gun shots were fired. The noise and call from the aide alerted Akinkurolere and his family who escaped out of the backdoor.

Gunmen searched the residence for an hour and caused property damage to buildings and vehicles with their random shooting.

SaharaReporters called the lawmaker and his family for comment, but calls were were not returned.
Okitipupa Divisional Police Station would not comment on the assassination attempt, but vehicles belonging to the Assemblyman, marked with bullet holes, could be seen parked outside.

A source said the case had been turned over to the criminal investigation department at Command Headquarters in Akure.
Ondo State Police Spokesman, Wole Ogodo, confirmed the case had been transferred, and a business man has been arrested in connection with the assassination attempt, and is helping police with their inquiries.

Sahara Reporters read the statement given by the suspect in which he wrote he did not send anyone to kill the lawmaker.

In the same statement, the suspect said he was both a supporter of the lawmaker, helping him win his assembly seat, and a frequent critic of the lawmaker on social media.

'Naomi poured acid over herself to achieve fame & fortune' - accused attacker claims

Mary Konye, the 21 year old jealous friend being accused of attacking Naomi Oni with acid in Dec. 2012 made some shocking allegations of her own in court today. She told the courts through her lawyers that Naomi set up the attack and asked her (Mary Konye) to 'play the stalker' and throw the acid on her face, which was all part of an elaborate plan to be rich and famous.

From UK Daily Mail
Today Miss Oni insisted she was not 'obsessed' with plastic surgery or the story of fellow acid attack victim Katy Piper, despite an internet search history on her laptop suggesting otherwise.

In cross examination Sally O'Neill asked her to explain to jurors the story of Ms Piper before asking whether she had become obsessed by the disfigured model.
Miss Oni said: 'I wouldn't say obsessed but it deeply moved me. I read about other attacks but it was not an obsession.'

Ms O'Neill said it was the defence case that she hatched a plan with Konye to pour acid over herself to improve her future prospects.
She said: 'You said if something similar to that of Katy Piper happened to you then that wouldn't be the end of the world because Katy Piper probably had a career boost.'
Miss Oni simply replied: 'No.'
The defence barrister asked her why she had visited a series of plastic surgery websites.
Miss Oni answered: 'I do not think I was very pretty at all.
'I went on the sites for no reason in particular - I had body issues and I was interested in plastic surgery for my body but there was no particular reason.
'I remember searching for my eyelids because I had double eyelids which I didn't like so I planned one day to see if I could do something about it.'
But Ms O'Neill said: 'You formalised a plan in which you would become the victim of a random acid attack in the hope that you would receive the same type of fame and fortune as Katy Piper had.'You were of the view that Katy Piper still looked lovely after the attack but that you would need something else to support the attack because the police wouldn't believe you and that was where you brought Mary Konye into it.
'Your play was, I suggest, that you would make an allegation that you had been followed and attacked and you wanted Mary Konye to be part of that - you wanted her to follow you and also, initially, wanted her to throw the acid.
'She absolutely refused to do that and you said that you were actually going to throw the acid yourself towards your neck area.'
Miss Oni replied: 'That is very untrue.'
Mary Konye, 21, admits disguising herself in a niqab and stalking Naomi Oni, also 21, on her way home from work, but denies she doused her in sulphuric acid. Miss Oni yesterday described the moment she was attacked and told Snaresbrook Crown Court after she saw the damage done she thought: ‘I’m ugly, no one’s going to marry me now.'
Jurors were also shown CCTV of student Konye disguised in a Muslim veil as she followed her friend on the Tube, before she was attacked late at night on an east London street.
Yesterday, she described how, on her way home from work at a Victoria’s Secret lingerie store, she got off at her bus stop in Dagenham, East London, and felt a ‘presence’ before turning to see someone in a niqab.
She then felt a ‘massive splash’ as the acid was thrown at her, scarring her for life and disfiguring her face, dissolving her hair and eyelashes and burning her tongue as she screamed.
Describing how she felt after the attack, she said: ‘Am I a bad person? Why has this happened to me? I work hard ... No one’s going to marry me now.’
Miss Oni also revealed that when she told her alleged attacker what had happened, her friend texted back: ‘OMG. Can’t believe it.’
She also cried down the phone to Konye, who offered her support, Snaresbrook Crown Court heard.
She said: ‘I just had my bandages removed and it was the first time I saw my  face after surgery and I broke down and I had spoken to Mary that night  and I was crying on the phone to her and she was on the phone to me telling me, “don’t worry, you’ll be OK”.’
Giving evidence yesterday, Miss Oni described how she felt a ‘presence’ behind her as she walked home.
She said: ‘I was still on the phone to my boyfriend and I felt a presence. I turned to my left and I saw someone and a black abaya [cloak] or a black niqab.
‘I remember it facing me, staring. A presence directly looking at me. All I could see was eyes.’
She then said she felt the splash as the acid was thrown in her face and ran home shouting ‘acid, acid’.

The court heard that the pair had a ‘rocky relationship’ and had stopped speaking from April to September 2011 after a row over Konye sending text messages to Miss Oni’s boyfriend.

Miss Oni said: ‘I remember asking her why she wanted to do that and I said she’s a monster or something like that.
'I said you are a monster, you are  an ugly monster. I remember us insulting each other’s looks.
'She also told me she was so angry she wanted to throw acid at me, but she was advised not to by her friend.
'Her friend said, “That’s stupid, you could go to jail for that”.’
Asked what she thought at the time about the threat, Miss Oni said: ‘I thought  it was quite bizarre, I felt insulted again. But she seemed like she wasn’t serious. I thought she was trying to frighten me a little bit.’
