No one has come here to give me food, I can neither walk nor move, the nurses and doctors are nice to me but they didn’t give me food. The nurse said she will come and attend to me at 9:30 am this morning and this is 9 o’ clock so I am waiting, but when I came here yesterday they took care of me, I didn’t pay for anything, but they didn’t give us food. I went to bed with an empty stomach, the woman inside the ward over there (she pointed) shared her food with me at midnight, as I am here my relatives don't know I am here as I couldn’t find my phone.” She said. Some people from the mosque came here to give me bread and tea this morning, the hospital only gave us injections and drips. I am still hungry, broke and with no money.” he said
The Minister of Health Onyebuchi Chukwu during his visit to the Asokoro Hospital was asked by reporters why the victims had not been fed by the hospital. He denied knowledge of that and said the Hospital management would look into it
"The management of the hospitals will go back after my departure to find the true situation and sort it out. All hospitals have been very cooperative this is the main situation.” he said.
An official of the Asokoro General Hospital who spoke anonymously to Premium Times confirmed that the victims were being administered drugs on empty stomachs
“Some of the victims cannot eat just yet, but some of them who can eat do not have the money to eat, the government can’t only be administering drugs on empty stomachs it can lead to other serious cases. We all tried yesterday but not even a single word of commendations from the government. You people should let Nigerians know the bomb blast victims are hungry and are not fed,” the official said

He also accused the governor of embezzling money meant for the state delegates to the national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2011 presidential election, saying he gave nobody one kobo.

“The little money that my campaign office provided, Kwakwanso refused to give it to the delegates.

“Even for the main election, the little money my campaign office sent to his state to facilitate the movement of people, Kwankwaso refused to give the money to anybody.

“How can Kwankwaso tell people that he voted for me?” Jonathan queried.

“I read in the newspaper that the governor of Kano State said he regretted voting for me. Let me tell my good people of Kano that Kwankwaso did not vote for me and the vice-president.

“We accommodate a lot because we know so much but we talk less,” the president concluded.

Jonathan Needs To Seek Foreign Help- Atiku Abubakar As Kano State Governor Says, The President Is Not Welcomed In Kano

Former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar after the Nyanya bomb blasts incident, have said at this point, the president needs to seek the help of foreign bodies. In a statement by his media office in Abuja, yesterday, Atiku said, there is an urgent need for the government of Nigeria to review its methods and strategies for dealing with terrorism.  Speaking further, he called for a step-up in intelligence, listening posts, picking up trends and conversations with a view to pre-empting terrorist attacks, adding that it is time for Nigeria to accept foreign assistance with fighting terrorism in the country.

Meanwhile Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso has said Kano residents won’t be willing to welcome Mr President in Kano. Rabiu said he personally regrets voting for him in 2011 because he has done nothing for the country. His words after the cut.

I regret voting for Jonathan in 2011. He has not done anything to move the nation forward. Only a few people are enjoying in Nigeria and this is at the expense of other citizens.

We are still waiting to hear the truth about the alleged missing funds, which led to the suspension of former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

If someone alleges that N20 million is missing in one of our ministries, I will investigate the matter and if I find the allegation to be true, I must praise the person for a job well done and then take appropriate action.

Boko Haram Abducts 103 Girls From High School In Borno State

Suspected members of Boko Haram sect yesterday while the country was still mourning the death of those killed at Nyanya motor park blast, abducted 103 students in a daring raid at the Girls Secondary School in Chibok; a town on the border between Borno and Adamawa States.

A soldier guiding the school was killed, while several villagers were wounded in the process, before they made away with the girls. The police commissioner in Borno State, Lawan Tanko, has confirmed the incident. Very sad. I don’t know if they intend to train these girls as well, but from previous reports, most of them are kept and used as sex slaves.

Meanwhile, Premium Times Nigeria reports that, security agents have ordered lawmakers and other staffers to immediately vacate the National assembly few minutes ago after reports emerged that an explosive material had been planted in the building. The National Assembly is located within the Three Arms Zone, Nigeria’s most fortified district, which lies a short distance from Nyanya, the scene of Monday’s bombing.

APC’s body language, utterances promote insurgency, PDP Insists

Press statement from the PDP, blaming APC for the terror in Nigeria. Find it below...
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reiterated calls on Nigerians to stand up and resist unpatriotic elements whose actions and utterances have continued to fuel insurgency in the country.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh in a statement on Tuesday said inflammatory utterances by certain key politicians against the emergence of President Goodluck Jonathan, sparked off hatred against the administration by their followers, while attracting impudent insurgents, who  started demanding the ouster of the President with threats to cripple the system through acts of terrorism.
“When the PDP, said that the All Progressive Party, (APC) is responsible for the spate of terror in Nigeria, many had an emotional response, but it is now time to dispassionately focus on the facts in order to stop the carnage on innocent Nigerians.

“Whilst we concede that insurgency existed in the nation before the advent of the current administration, we wish to point out that inflammatory utterances from leaders, many of whom by design or otherwise are now chieftains of the APC have succeeded in emboldening them to launch large scale attacks , maiming and killing our people, believing their actions enjoy the approval of such leaders”, the statement said.

The party observed that such utterances would likely have prompted donations in support of insurgency from followers of such leaders, who thought they were sponsoring a worthy cause.

It noted that these key figures never condemned acts of terrorism and the killings until well-meaning Nigerians started pointing accusing fingers at them. “They rather blamed government for not reaching out to pacify the terrorists instead of helping to  find solutions. They relished in comments which  inspired violence and embolden insurgents against the system” the statement said.

The party insisted that it was not a coincidence that after General Muhammadu Buhari beckoned on his supporters to go on lynching spree should he lose the 2011 presidential election, an unprecedented violence broke out, claiming the lives of  hundreds of innocent Nigeria.

“Not satisfied with the enormity of the mayhem and bloodletting of 2011, Buhari  on the 14th of May 2012 said, "If what happened in 2011 (alleged rigging) should again happen in 2015, by the grace of God, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in blood.’’

“Nigerians have not forgotten that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in a spirited bid to stop President Jonathan from contesting the 2011 election declared on the 14th of December 2010 that "those who make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable"

“Atiku’s statement was collaborated by one his close associates, Alhaji Lawal Kaita, who in October 2010, while rejecting the emergence of a President from the South, also said, ‘the North is determined, if it happens, to make the country ungovernable for President Jonathan or any
other Southerner who finds his way to the seat of power…...Even if he uses incumbency power to get his nomination on the platform of the PDP, he would be frustrated out.’

“On the 23rd of January 2014, APC Deputy National Secretary, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, said  “The next election is likely to be violent and many people are likely going to die. And the only alternative left to get power is to take it by force; this is the reality on ground.

“Are we not now witnessing a foretaste of the bloodbath promised by Buhari and El-Rufai? Is this not the "violent change" promised by Atiku? How many people have to die before Nigerians call a spade a spade and not a farming implement?

“We were not surprised when Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi now a leader in the APC, in inciting his followers recently said, ‘I came to Bori to prove to you that you don’t need to run away from violence. If a man is chasing you with AK-47, you should carry machine gun and the man
will call for peace.’

“We also recall recent statement by the Borno state governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima wherein he posited that the insurgents were better armed and better motivated than our security forces. This was deliberately directed at weakening and undermining the security forces while emboldening insurgents. No wonder that after Shettima’s statement, insurgents were encouraged to launch more deadly attacks on our security forces and staged a comeback to the Federal Capital Territory. This is
in addition to statements by Governor Nyako of Adamawa State who continually, ridicules the office and person of the President to portray the administration as weak in fighting terrorism”, the statement said.

The party insisted that the reason the APC leaders were promoting insurgency was not only to distract the President and rubbish his score card but also to unleash unprecedented mayhem, divide the people and forcefully take over power when it loses the 2015 general election.

It said that its statement Monday which again linked the Nyanya bombing to the utterances of the opposition was a clear stand and a warning that the PDP would henceforth  go beyond shedding tears at each carnage, to exposing the enemies of the nation, so as to limit all reckless statements which have been fueling insurgency.

"It is easier to stop at shedding tears after each carnage. This, the PDP has severally done. The difficult part however, lies in attempting to limit reckless statements which fuel violence. We believe this will go a long way to stopping those who instigate violence through utterances and shed crocodile tears thereafter” it said.

The party vowed to continue to protect the welfare and interest of Nigerians adding that the citizens and the Federal Government will not succumb to the designs of unpatriotic elements.

“Indeed, the peace, unity and stability of this country remain non-negotiable. They can bomb and attack, but one thing is sure; they cannot kill the Nigerian spirit in our people and our collective resolve to live together as one nation under God.

“The leadership of the PDP and the government we formed shall not be cowed, intimidated, harassed or tele-guided by acts of terrorism. The PDP is willing, able and ready to sustain the unity and stability of this country. We therefore call on all Nigerians to stand up and collectively defend our common destiny by openly condemning acts of terrorism and exposing those behind them”, the statement said.

I am the king of R&B in Nigeria' - Darey Art Alade declares

Award winning artiste Darey Art Alade said in a recent interview with Encomium mag that he is the king of RnB music in Nigeria and not Banky W. When asked if he feels any competition between himself and Banky W knowing that they are both called Nigeria's king of RnB, Darey replied;
"There is only one king of RnB. I have never heard anybody being called king of RnB except me. I have never heard anybody call him (Banky W) king of RnB except if you think he is one. But the truth is, there is only one king, and you know who the king is. If you doubt it, my new material will settle the scores. Although it has taken sometime, I am very happy the work is coming out soon" he told the magazine
Darey also spoke on the increased rate of artiste/management face off and revealed plans of acquiring a radio station. Continue to read the rest...

On artiste/management face off, Darey said;
"The truth of the matter is everybody has a role to play and they have a portion of the blame. The label invests something, I don't want to say much. For every investment you want to make a return. This is where the artiste doesn't understand. In the beginning, they gave you a house, a car, and you think you are talented, and come to think of it, you don't even have anything in the market. Whatever they gave you was based on potential, the initial agreement that if I give you this, you will give me that in return. Some artistes don't have agreement, everything is sealed at a bar. As you drink, you signed without realizing what you are signing. Some of them are illiterates, some pretend to know what the business is all about, but they don't. Some of them get carried away by the glitz and glamour of it, signed without knowing what the agreement stipulates. When they default, they start blaming the label, saying all sorts of things. But most of us don't find out what was the agreement before going to the press and write. On the other side, the label may have been obligated to do certain things but they did not do it and the artiste will complain. These are the issues" he said
On how to resolve these issues, Darey said;
"I think both sides should have respect for agreement. There shouldn't be issues if both sides respect agreement they made. For instance, when I left Questionmark, nobody heard that I fought anybody till tomorrow. Yes we had disagreement, it wasn't a rosy ending but till date they are still my friends, we work together. So maturity is needed to handle such situation".
Darey also spoke on his plans to own a radio station
"I will love to own a radio station. I have already started making inquiries and plans on that feasibility. I am a radio person, I have worked on radio, and it was really fun. Since then I felt it is good if I can achieve this by running a radio station. After all, it will provide jobs for people, encourage creativity and improve entertainment. I don't know the format of the station yet but let me get the license first" he said.

Laide Bakare’s Ex- Husband Blasts Her Over New Husband’s Fraud Case + More Journalists Dig Into The Matter & MTN Confirms He Is Wanted

Laide Bakare’s ex-husband, Olumide Okufulure said she is just starting and the wrath of God will soon fall on her, when asked in a new interview how he feels about Laide’s present condition and how her husband is wanted by EFCC, he said, she is such a wicked person and she should expect more.

By the way some journalists have, made further investigations into the fraud case of Alhaji Mutairu Orilowo (Laide’s present husband) when he issued a press statement few days ago that he was not wanted by EFCC and they are only trying to drag his name in the mud, alleging he will be suing them soon. Apparently, most of what he said turned out to be a ‘lie’, when a journalist with E24-7 magazine made more investigation into the matter.  Continue after the cut.

What Her Ex, Told The Magazine

You see, Laide has just started. She hasn't even reached where she's going. She will soon leave this Alhaji because she likes a comfortable place. I heard she claims that I don't have money. Now she's where she can get money. When I met her, she was driving a Celica. I bought her a 2 million Chrysler car. When she had our child, I bought a first-class ticket for her to bring our baby. I later bought Infinity Jeep that she gave her younger sibling.  When she was about to marry me, it was the money she saw. When she came to America, I bought her a 4matic Benz. Laide isn't a good person, she is yet to see God's wrath."

From E24-7 Magazine

‘Catch me if you can’   seems to be the song on the lips of Alhaji Atanda Mutairu Babatunde Orilowo,
popularly known as ATM, declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretences and stealing, as E24-7 magazine's checks revealed ugly and shocking details of the N2.5 billion naira scam involved.

Mutairu, 47, and 5'7 feet tall, E24-7 magazine checks revealed, allegedly connived with two past executives of MTN’s Employee Multipurpose  Cooperative Society, namely,  Victor Akintunde and Gani Mustapha to defraud members having been  contacted   by the legal department of the telecommunications company to stop with further notice the purchase of 13 hectares of land, out of which 5hectares Orilowo bought from his family, BabaEgbe  had issues.

To the dismay of the department, Victor Akintunde  ignored the caveat, made another payment of N40million after the initial N10m totaling N50m, being part payment without approval or any formal documentation from Orilowo’s Primavera Company. Again, the two former excos on their own transferred the sum of N990million to Primavera to purchase the 13hectares in Okun Aja area of Lagos.
The MTN Employee Multipurpose Cooperative Society’s executive had on their own approached Orilowo, a land speculator to purchase for them the 321 plots for the proposed Y’ello Estate. Within 2006 and 2009, checks revealed, the two executives acting on their own authorized the transfer of almost N700million to Orilowo’s company, Primavera.

While another purchase of  the 26hectares of land belonged to the Jagun Opolu family, Orilowo gave MEMCOS the impression that it was his property. Findings showed that while he was paid N700million by MEMCOS, for the land, assumed to be his own, he paid the representative of the family he bought it from, one Atiku, the sum of N200million. Atiku eventually paid the family N36million.  In 2010, the Jagun Opolu family got wind of the fact that Primavera was not remitting to them accordingly, they wrote MEMCOS to pay them directly henceforth.

Within members, undue delay led to agitations and many acts of financial misappropriation started to unfold. The 26hectares from the Jagun Opolu family initially put at N963million, it was found N863million was paid. To save face, the disgraced exco, ran to the Jagun Opolu family to raise a fictitious document that the hectares of land was sold at N1.4bn with MEMCOS yet to pay the balance. Other financial discrepancies  were found in the claim to obtain title deeds, September 22, 2008,  an additional N290 paid after the  initial N990m),   tax clearance for  land owners, Zenith Bank’s N120m cheque issued to Primavera on 23rd January, 2009  whereas N9million was initially  paid to Lagos State Government for tax clearance. Another bogus payment was found 23 July 2008 when N310m Zenith Bank’s cheque was issued to Primavera by the past executives and only the sum of N76m was paid to LASG to process the land documents.

Apparently dissatisfied with the whole process, the new excos of MEMCOS advertised the contract, calling companies to   tender their bids. A new company, Trioteknix got the job and several clogs have been thrown into their steps to execute the project since 2011. As at April 2014, thousands of staffers of MTN who are members of MEMCOS don’t know their fate,   six years after the promise to deliver the housing project in 24months.  Triotekniks, the new contractor is battling with waterlogged land to be sandfilled and undue interference from the land prospectors and a law suit.

Orilowo who was later dragged to EFCC, and interrogated suddenly disappeared and consequently, he was declared wanted. Notice of his arrest was issued and advertised in a national daily and on the financial crime commission’s website as at the time of filing this report. He was widely reported to have absconded. Last week, the property merchant through his reps issued a statement that refuted the claim by EFCC that he was on the run.  He accused top MTN’s staffer of attempt to hijack the project because he was the only one handling it. Throwing her support behind her husband, Laide Bakare said: “False allegations. Okun Aja is not far. You  can visit the Y’ellow Estate and my husband has done it for them. He also has a judgement against MTN people in court. My husband has fully delivered the job and they must pay him.”

But in  a swift reaction, Mrs. Funmilayo Mustapha,  a General Manager with MTN and an executive member of MEMCOS insisted that  Primavera’s Mutairu in connivance  with  Victor Akintunde and Gani Mustapha,  defrauded the Cooperative Society of  about  “N2.5billion which we have every evidence to prove it  already with EFCC. We are in the court and they are already arraigned, Primavera, that is Alhaji Mutairu has already absconded and the court has  given a bench warrant to get him arrested anywhere he is seen.

On Mutairu’s claim that some top staffs of MTN wanted to hijack the project, she said, “MTN is different from MEMCOS. MTN has no relationship with Primavera or Mutairu.  No, there is no top staff that wanted to hijack. He defrauded and I am a General Manager in MTN and the reason why I came into this is to take back the money of low level staffs, because low level staff, middle-level staffs they contributed into this, even their families and friends contributed into this and by that fact there is no top management staff that wanted to hijack, they wanted transparency, that was the reason why they said he should stop because there was no written contract agreement between MEMCOS and Primavera. They had the intention of defrauding, Primavera, Victor Akintunde, Gani Mustapha and Alhaji Mutairu they all had the intention of defrauding members of MTN’s Cooperative by not giving them houses. N2.5b has been contributed.

Asked if those past executives are still in the employment of MTN, she said: “No, they are not, MTN disengaged with them because we never believed in people who lack integrity; the watchword of MTN is integrity, so whenever we discover that your integrity is impaired no matter how little, we have to disengage with you. MTN disengaged with them since December  2012,” she said.

Senator Bukola Saraki Has A Word For Mr President

It’s baffling and heart breaking that scores have been feared dead on a Monday morning attack in Nyanya overhead bridge in the outskirt of Abuja; the growing insecurity which has spanned over 3 years unabated has threatened the unity of the nation, and weaken our socio-economic and political strength. It is unfortunate that in the face of this growing insurgencies, the Federal Government has been unable to overcome the challenge and provide adequate and holistic approach to security for the lives and properties of Nigerians?

Beyond usual promises and consolations to the masses, the Federal Government should improvise and adopt advanced security measures and counter terrorism strategies that can provide adequate security in the nation. There is an urgent need for Political cooperation across the board. I call on Mr President to call a joint meeting of leaders from all political divides , religious and opinion leaders to deliberate on the nation’s security plight. Enough of rhetorics and workshop or summit on security matter. What we need now is action and commitment. It is my believe that for the sake of the innocent lives our political resolve must be as strong as the military option.

I sympathize with the families of those affected and pray Almighty Allah comfort them.

Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki
