Tchidi Chikere puts ex-wife on blast. Calls her the most terrible wife

I thought the drama was over after Tchidi married Nuella last weekend but like some of you said, the drama is only just beginning. The Nollywood actor a few minutes ago took to his twitter account to put his ex-wife Sophia Tchidi Chikere on blast, calling her the most terrible wife, and implied that she cheated when they were together.

Our Male Celebrities Have Become Sex Toys To Senators & Alhajas In High Places- Etcetera Spills

This guy is not even smiling at all, lol. Etcetera in a recent chat with Rose Peters-Graham, has spilled the beans. Etcetera accused Nigerian male celebrities of hopping on planes to Abuja just to search for a senator who would be their next sugar mummy or a highly connected woman they can marry. He also said the women have since turned these men into their sex toys, replacing them at will, week in, week out.

He said a lot to Rose, lol and also wonders why men who are married to female celebrities ignore their wives waywardness even when they know they are sleeping with politicians and other men in power, lol. Read part of the bombshell he dropped after the cut.

 “It is so appalling how some Nigerian men in the entertainment (industry) are becoming enslaved to women because of money. How can a man be so emasculated? Where is our pride?”, Etcetera first narrated. Then he went on to reveal that;

“Each time an entertainer boards a flight to Abuja, you begin to wonder if he’s going for a public event or a private one. Our male celebrities are unashamedly becoming sex toys and pleasure gadgets to female senators and Alhajas. What’s happening to Nigeria men?”

“It is so appalling to hear talks of how a former Senator has so many male celebrities on rotation for her weekly pleasures. Even the supposedly gospel musicians are at the fore front of this ridicule…Also, a man knows that his wife is sleeping with politicians and other societal big wigs for money and he closes his eyes to all the insults. What’s going on?” he queried.

I’m Not Dating K1 Neither Am I Fighting His Babymama- Dayo Amusa

Dayo Amusa has finally addressed the prolonged ‘k1 issue’ after a lot of people have speculated the actress is in a relationship with the fuji star and even desperately trying to get pregnant for him. But Dayo in a new interview with Encomium addressed the issue insisting what exists between them is a father and daughter relationship, and nothing more. Alleging the rumour started in 2011 when K1 played at her movie premiere in Lagos.

Speaking about the role she played when K1 recently gave out three daughters in marriage, she said, she was contacted to take care of entertainers who attended the ceremonies and she does not see a big deal in doing that, knowing K1 is a father figure to her. She also talked about K1’s latest baby mama, Bisola Badmus, insisting they are at peace and there’s no quarrel between them.

Interestingly, when Bisola was contacted if she was quarrelling with Dayo over K1, she said no, and joyfully said she can authoritatively tell us she is the only actress that has a baby for him in the entertainment industry. So here you have it people.

FIFA bans Barcelona from signing players for the next two transfer periods

FIFA today April 2nd banned Spanish football giants FC Barcelona from signing players till summer 2015 over rules breach relating to the international transfer and registration of players under 18.

According to reports, the club was investigated by FIFA for 12 months over their youth recruitment policy. And after FIFA found out that the club had been engaged in illegally recruiting and importing non-Spanish minors over a four year period, the world football governing body handed out the transfer ban and also fined the club £306,000. (450,000 Swiss francs.)

FIFA also fined the Spanish FA £340,000 for allowing Barcelona to embark on a sustained and extended policy of what is viewed as child exploitation by the world governing body. Read FIFA's statement below

'FC Barcelona has been found to be in breach of article 19 of the regulations in the case of 10 minor players and to have committed several other concurrent infringements in the context of other players.
The disciplinary committee regarded the infringements as serious and decided to sanction the club with a transfer ban at both national and international level for two complete and consecutive transfer periods, together with a fine of 450,000 Swiss francs.

'Additionally, the club was granted a period of 90 days in which to regularise the situation of all minor players concerned.'
'The disciplinary committee emphasised that the protection of minors in the context of international transfers is an important social and legal issue that concerns all stakeholders in football.
'The committee highlighted that while international transfers might, in specific cases, be favourable to a young player's sporting career, they are very likely to be contrary to the best interests of the player as a minor.
'Young football players are vulnerable to exploitation and abuse in a foreign country without the proper controls. This particular fact makes the protection of minors in football by the sport's governing bodies, especially by FIFA, even more important.'
FIFA only allows international youth transfers when one of three situations apply: the player's parents have moved country for their own, non-related reasons; the move takes place within the European Union if a player is aged between 16 and 18; or the player's home is less than 50 kilometres from the national border being crossed.

How Robbers Now Use ATM Cards To Enrich Themselves In Lagos

May we not fall victim of this, but there is now a new trend of how robbers rob innocent Lagosians at cash points. Here’s the gist; these robbers don’t rob Monday nights, Tuesday or Thursday nights, but Friday nights. What they do is this. Some of them stay around the bank, while one of them walks up to the person making the transaction and gently smile and show him or her a gun or a sharp object. In case you want to play funny, he quickly points at his other members and tells you to corporate or you risk wasting your life.  He will then ask you to confirm your pin and makes withdrawal while you are still there, and dispose you of other ATM cards on you, after their pins have also been confirmed. They make the daily maximum withdrawal from Friday to Sunday and the smart ones wake up very early Monday morning to also make another withdrawal before you get to the bank to lodge your complaints. This has been going on for a while now, but it’s getting more rampant weeks after weeks.

Helicopters drop food items, arms for Boko Haram members - Yobe elders say

Former Minister of Finance, Mallam Adamu Ciroma; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe; elder statesman, Shetima Mustapha and other political leaders from Yobe and Borno state yesterday held a press conference in Abuja where they revealed that members of the Islamic sect were being supplied food, medicine and arms with helicopters and wondered why security agents and the state governments have kept mum on this fact.
The elders who met under the umbrella of "Borno Yobe Peoples Forum" wondered why the 20-hilux car convoys of Boko Haram members can move freely and execute their plans without being intercepted by security men who are supposed to monitor movement even with the curfew both states are placed on right now.
They also asked the government to tell Nigerians who directed security officials to leave the Federal Government College, Buni Yadi in Yobe State few hours before the sect members attacked and killed 59 young students last month. Hmmm...continue...
Air Vice Marshal Al-amin Daggash, a former Chief of Air Staff, who spoke on behalf of other elders said
“Are the authorities unaware of helicopters dropping arms and ammunition, food and medical supplies to areas well known to be strong holds of the insurgents? How were the insurgents able to attack the Maiduguri Air-Force Base and demobilise as well as burn planes and other military installations despite existing state of emergency and curfew in the town? How could 20 to 30 Toyota Hilux vehicles move in a convoy freely with subsisting curfew and still go undetected?
“How did a little band of rag-tag misguided youths metamorphose into a well-kitted, well-armed killing machine moving freely in convoy of vehicles and supported by helicopters.
“How did the Shilka Tank, a multipurpose self propelled anti-aircraft  artillery weapon, positioned to secure Giwa Barracks, fail to function resulting in heavy loss of lives of both civilian and military as widely reported in the media? Are we dealing with fifth columnists in this crisis?” he said.
The elders asked that the State of Emergency that the three Northeast states, Yobe, Adamawa and Borno, are currently experiencing should not be extended as it has failed to achieve the purpose for which it was first enforced. According to Daggash, 17,000 people have been killed with over 3million people displaced this year.

Four suicide bombers die in attempted attack in Maiduguri

Four suspected Boko Haram members died today after the vehicles in which they each rode in exploded as they headed towards a NNPC facility on Maiduguri-Dambora road in Mule, an outskirt of Maiduguri, Borno State. Apparently they each had their vehicles laced with bombs that would detonate at the same time.

Spokesman for the Joint Information Centre for Counter Terrorism Campaign, Major General Chris Olukolade said that three out of the four explosive-laden vehicles were demobilized by shots fired at them by soldiers at the check point shortly before the explosions.

Reports say five soldiers were killed when the bombs exploded and the exact number of civilian casualties is yet to be ascertained.

Fani-Kayode Warns APC Against Muslim/Muslim Presidential Ticket

Culled from Premium Times

“This is not 1993 and whether we like it or not we must accept the fact that religion plays a major role in our politics today.”

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has cautioned the party against fielding an all Muslim presidential ticket in next year’s polls.

In a statement on Monday, Mr. Fani-Kayode said the APC would lose “woefully” if they present a Muslim-Muslim ticket in the 2015 presidential election.

“I have said it privately in countless political meetings and I will say it publicly today. Please mark it – the biggest mistake that my party, the APC, can make is to field a Muslim/Muslim ticket in the 2015 Presidential election. If we do that we will not only offend the Christian community, but we will also lose the election woefully,” Mr. Fani-Kayode said.

In the 1993 presidential election, the Social Democratic Party, SDP, had fielded M.K.O Abiola and Baba Gana Kingibe – both of them staunch Muslims – and still went ahead to garner a landslide victory in the annulled election.

“This is not 1993 and whether we like it or not we must accept the fact that religion plays a major role in our politics today,” Mr. Fani-Kayode said.

“Our party must have both a Christian and a Muslim on the ticket if we want to be taken seriously in the Presidential election. I implore those that think otherwise to sit down and think this through properly,” Mr. Fani-Kayode added.

Mr. Fani-Kayode further argued that presenting a Christian/Christian ticket would be as insensitive to the feelings of Muslims as a Muslim/Muslim ticket would be insensitive to the feelings of Christians.
“I for one would never support a ticket that presents two members of the same faith no matter what the consequences would be.

“This country belongs to both Muslims and Christians- we are all one and we must ensure that we do not hurt the feelings or the sensitivities of one another either advertently or inadvertently. As they say ‘the road to hell is paved with good intentions.’

“Let us be mindful of our actions, deeds and words, no matter how well-intentioned they may be, and let us ensure that we do not confirm the terrible stereotyping that those that are against us are trying to label us with.

“The APC is the only hope for Nigeria. Let us not mess it up by making the wrong choices. A word is enough for the wise,” Mr. Fani-Kayode said.

Man Slits Woman’s Throat For Rituals In Ibadan

Ms Chiwendu Nkwocha is lucky to still be alive after a Muslim cleric, Isa Salaudeen attempted to slit her throat in his apartment in Ibadan. Chinwendu was said to have found herself in the cleric’s apartment after her boyfriend took her there for spiritual cleansing.

She was tied down and her face covered thinking he was getting her ready for the cleansing, until she felt a sharp object piercing through her throat and she cried out for help. The ‘Alfa’ would have succeeded, but the knife he took wasn’t sharp enough. As he was about changing the knife, the woman made more noise and people broke into his apartment to find her tied down and bleeding. She was rushed to UCH where she is presently receiving treatment and the cleric was instantly arrested.

The Oyo state police command has said the suspect is already helping them with useful information.

Boy kills brother in Yobe state, removes his eyes, tongue

A boy in Daya Village, Fika LGA of Yobe State, today Monday March 31st allegedly killed his younger brother and removed his tongue and eyes, Premium Times reports
A resident of Daya, Ishmail Daya, said that the younger boy had gone missing three days ago and that while a search was going on in the village, the older brother was found with his brother’s tongue and eyes.
“He killed his younger brother and buried him on his father’s farmland,” Ishmail said.
Both the alleged killer and the victim are believed to be underage. He insisted that there had been no prior quarrel between the siblings.
“There was no fight, he just killed his brother. Though investigation is still going on, but there was no fight,” he said.

The district head and Galadima of Fika, Fika LGA, Garba Daya, confirmed the incident.

University of Abuja students protest lack of water, power

Students of the University of Abuja on Monday protested the lack power and water supply to the permanent campus site of the university.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that more than 1,000 students gathered on the campus about 8am on Monday and barricaded road leading to the Senate building and classes.

Some of them told NAN that the protest became necessary because the school authorities had not provided power and water at the campus for three months running

Mr Mike Ajeoja, a Theatre student, said those of them living in hostel at the permanent site had no power and water for the past three months.

Ajeoja said they had drawn the attention of the school management to their plight, but nothing had been done to address the situation.
“We are left with no choice then to come out and tell the world our problems.
“We will not stop the protest unless our problems are solved,” he said.
A female student, who pleaded for anonymity, said she had not had her bath for some days as a result of lack of water.

According to her, some of students use sachet water to bath, cook and even wash clothes.
“We are tired of staying without water and light. We wear squeezed clothes to the classes and we do not want such situation to continue,” she added.

The Information Officer of the school, Mr Waziri Garba, confirmed the situation to NAN on telephone, saying the students were protesting lack of power and water supply in the school.
Garba, however, appealed to them to remain calm, assuring that the school management was already taking steps to resolve the problem.

Meanwhile, Baro Ahmad, the Business Manager, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, Gwagwalada, said it was not true that the school had no power for three months running.
He blamed power outage on the campus on some electrical problems which, he said, the company was working on.

Ahmad assured the students and school management that steady power would be restored to the campus.
“By 4 p.m. today (Monday), there will be steady power supply to the permanent site,” he said.
