Military commanders aiding Boko Haram, soldier alleges

According to a report by Punch, a Nigerian soldier who was a guest on the Voice of America Hausa Service has claimed that some military chiefs are aiding the men of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

The soldier who did not reveal his identity, told VON Hausa Service, that sometime ago, while serving in Bama Unit in Borno state, a commander from a nearby unit got in contact with his own commandant and asked for backup.

He said when he and the soldiers were to meet with the soldiers from the other commandant, they discovered they were given different uniforms and in the brink of launching the attack on the insurgent group, the soldiers from the other unit were withdrawn by their commandant leaving them to face the men of the Islamic sect alone with light arms. He also claimed that some of the insurgents they killed were officers that conducted training in military base in Kontagora near Abuja. Continue...

"We had only light arms and our men were being picked off one after the other. We realised that some of them were actually mercenaries from the Nigerian army… hired to fight us,” he said.

The unidentified soldier said that most of his colleagues are silently putting their arms down and leaving the army due to the frustrations they experienced and what he termed the politicizing of the war against the Islamic sect
"“I swear by Allah, there are soldiers who are coming out of the forest after they were abandoned; several of them dropped their weapons and just went home. There were more than 20 of them from this battalion in Kwanduga. Even me that is talking to you now, I am preparing to leave. I just want to tell the world so that they will know what is happening. These people are doing this secretly.” he said
His claim on some military personnel being recruited by the sect group seem to have been confirmed as some Military high command on Sunday launched an investigation into claims of a lance corporal who was said to be killed by the Special Forces during an encounter with  insurgents in Borno State. The Lance Corporal according to a source told Punch that he was a trusted  trainer of Special Forces at the Nigerian Army Training Centre, Kontagora.
"A soldier who trains Special Forces at the Nigerian Army Training Centre in Kontagora, Niger State, was among those who were killed. The man was not among the Special Forces; he was obviously leading the attack for the insurgents but he got killed. It was one of the soldiers that identified him as somebody from his unit in Kotangora. The soldier called attention to the man’s corpse and when the commander said he should be searched, they recovered a current pass authorizing him to leave Kotangora and his Army identity card from him".
Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen Chris Olukolade in response to the soldiers claims said they were all not true and that the unidentified soldier could be a Boko Haram sect member who was disguising as a Soldier.
"The person that granted that interview on the VOA; we believe he is not a soldier, he could just be one of those simulated on the other side to give some false impression to support the insurgents.” He refused to comment on the story about the killed lance corporal who is alleged to have been working for the sect members

Nigeria becomes Africa's biggest economy, with $510billion

Article written by Associated Press writer, Michelle Faul. It's quite interesting. Read!
Nigeria's recalculated economy is worth $510 billion, by far the biggest in Africa, officials announced Sunday using long overdue revised data that gives the West African nation continental bragging rights but does little for the 70 percent of its citizens living in poverty.
The new value of Nigeria's GDP adds previously uncounted industries like telecommunications, information technology, music, airlines, burgeoning online retail outlets and Nollywood film production that didn't exist when the last GDP count was made in 1990. Then, there were 300,000 landlines. Today, Nigeria has 100 million cell phone users.

The new figures also will take account of growth in agriculture and tourism that have flourished since democracy was restored in 1999, ending decades of military dictatorship.

With one fell swoop, Nigeria knocked out of the ring South Africa, whose GDP of $353 billion was previously counted the biggest on the continent and which is the only African member of the G20.
"Nigeria's success is a reminder that Africa is moving ahead despite its current challenges," said investment manager Kevin Daly of UK-based Aberdeen Asset Management, which invests in Africa. He pointed out that it is a Nigerian, billionaire Aliko Dangote, who is building Africa's largest privately owned oil refinery.

Investors' attention will be drawn by the fact that while oil remains the biggest source of government revenue, about 80 percent, oil production is declining while Nigeria's agriculture, communications and service sectors are enjoying healthy growth.

Nigeria has been Africa's biggest drawer of direct foreign investment despite myriad woes, from massive corruption and oil thefts costing the country some $20 million a day to an Islamic uprising in the northeast that has killed more than 1,200 people so far this year, to a paralytic electricity supply that keeps businesses dependent on diesel-run generators.

Finance Minister Ngozi Ikonjo-Iweala told a news conference Sunday that the new data makes Nigeria the 26th largest economy in the world and raises its per capita income to $2,688, making it No. 121 in the world, up from No. 135.

That is still feeble compared to South Africa's $7,336 for its population of 48 million. South Africa, bedeviled by mining strikes, violent protests over services and a lackluster performance that has kept annual growth at around 3.5 percent, still has infrastructure unrivaled on the continent, most notably a power sector that generates 10 times more electricity than Nigeria.

Nigeria's revised figures will lower its much-vaunted growth rate of 7 percent but also will decrease an already low debt to GDP ratio of 21 percent, which should lower interest rates should the government want to borrow more, economists said.

Ikonjo-Iweala blamed decades of military rule for the delay in repositioning Nigeria's economy, but the country is not alone. Ghana's economy jumped by 60 percent when it recalculated its goods and services production in 2012, and Kenya and Zambia are considering the same.

Ikonjo-Iweala has said that Nigeria's economy needs to grow at about 10 percent to address massive poverty and youth unemployment. Government statistics say unemployment increased from 12.7 percent in 2007 to 23.9 percent in 2011; the World Bank says unemployment among young Nigerians stands at 38 percent but analysts say it is as high as 80 percent in many parts of the country.

Financial analyst Bismarck Rewane called the revisions "a vanity. The Nigerian population is not better off tomorrow because of that announcement. It doesn't put more money in the bank, more food in their stomach. It changes nothing."

Nigerians took to social networks to share their feelings. "So Nigeria has now supplanted South Africa as Africa's largest economy. But I've not had light (electricity) for seven days, so it means nothing to me," said one tweet.

Another commented: "Nigeria is Africa's biggest economy - on paper. So technically, I'm rich in theory."

According to MTO, Rihanna is pregnant for.... either Chris Brown or Drake

According to MediaTakeOut, Rihanna is expecting a baby for either ex-boyfriend Chris Brown (who she broke up with in April 2013) or current boyfriend Drake and they even have a baby bump to prove Rihanna's pregnant.  Find their report below...
MediaTakeOut.com just received a stunning report - people close to Rihanna believe that she's PREGNANT - and they have good reason to.
First off, MediaTakeOut.com can confirm that Rihanna has given up cigarettes and weed in recent weeks. And for anyone that knows Rihanna.. she constantly has a blunt or a cigarette in her mouth.

what's even MORE surprising is that Rihanna has given up drinking too. According to our SNITCH inside Rih's camp, the Bajan BEAUTY refused to attend the official AFTERPARTY on Drake's tour because there would be "too much alcohol and weed smoke" there. So Rihanna went back to the hotel room instead.

And now the PICS. Yesterday MediaTakeOut.com showed you guys pics of Rihanna - getting DECAFFINATED TEA with her father. Well look at her stomach area.

The most INTERESTING part of the story - is assuming Rihanna IS PREGNANT - whose baby is it? While it seems like it SHOULD be Drake's . . . we can tell you with 100% FACTS that Rihanna visited Chris Brown while he was in rehab. And y'all already KNOW what Chris was doing in rehab . . . that's how he got himself LOCKED UP

35-year-old “Child of God” actor James Franco have made headlines for trying to pick up a 17-year-old girl on Instagram. The actor few mins later sent her an urgent personal message, asking for her phone number and meeting him up in an hotel room. More chats below.

"It's way that people meet each other today, but what I've learned — I guess because I'm new to it. You don't know who's on the other end. You get a feel for them, you don't know who you're talking to. I used bad judgment and I learned my lesson", the actor concluded.

Muyiwa Manchester Impregnates Atorise’s Mistress, Nikki Abdullahi

Muyiwa Manchester, a big Naija player in London has impregnated Gospel singer, Atorise’s mistress and a mother of two, but the sad news is that, Muyiwa was arrested and has been jailed since December and stand the risk of being deported. They say Nikki has been running up and down with her big belly to secure his release, which has proved abortive. Here’s how theelite is reporting the gist.

Nikki Abdullahi, a London based socialite, is in a quandary at the moment. Just when she thought she had found love, fate decided to play a game with her. But Nikki is not finding this game funny in any way. She is running from pillar to post, in her quest to wriggle out of the quandary she presently finds herself.
Nikki, a popular socialite in the South London area, is heavily pregnant with her third child. However, the cheers, which should have greeted this news is deflated by the fact that Nikki’s lover, Muyiwa Akingbade is presently in jail in the United Kingdom. Akingbade was arrested last December and he is on the verge of being deported to Nigeria.

The ELITES gathered that before now, Nikki has two children, fathered by two men. Her college sweetheart was alleged to have fathered her first child. Bayo Ferrari, who is described as a London carpet badger, was said to have fathered her second child. However, Nikki’s affair with Ferrari was short-lived, because it was devoid of genuine love. It was after the crash of the affair that she met and fell in love with Lanre Teriba, (Atorishe), the controversial Gospel music act. The affair was steamy but it also crashed when Nikky, a British citizen, found out that Atorise was planning to use her to obtain United Kingdom residency permit.

It was after she dumped Atorise that Nikki met Akingbade, another London socialite. Akingbade goes by the sobriquet, Manchester. He is reported to have fathered five children from three different women in London. Described as a compulsive socialite, who likes to be seen everywhere, Akingbade is said to be fond of spraying Fuji musicians, who would then eulogise him to his delight. Short of being tagged a perpetual gate crasher, Akingbade was a regular face at virtually all the parties in South London.  It didn’t matter if he was invited or not, he would find it expedient to attend any party being hosted in the area.

Somehow, on account of his various financial commitments and obligations, Akingbade was always hustling and taking unnecessary risks, in his bid to fund his inflated celebrity lifestyle. He was alleged to have purchased a Vogue Range Rover on hire purchase and went around town showing off his new acquisition. Last December, Akingbade was reported to have gone to one of the branches of Barclays Bank, to open an account. It was gathered that he presented a fake passport, which was detected by the eagle-eyed cashier. The cashier called the police, and Akingbade was arrested. Subsequently, he was tried and jailed, and he is now awaiting deportation to Nigeria.

His love-struck and heavily pregnant lover, Nikki, is said to be running around to secure his freedom.

Nigerians hospitalised after mob attack in South Africa

On Wednesday and Thursday April 2nd and 3rd, Nigerians in Johannesburg and Pretoria were physically attacked by a group of organized gang members and Commercial Taxi drivers in South Africa. These hoodlums destroyed and looted over 25 shops belonging to Nigerians. Though no Nigerian died in the attack, Nigerian residents there say at least ten Nigerians have been hospitalized with a few battling for their lives.

The attack according to the President of the Nigerian Union in South Africa, Ikechukwu Anyene, started last week from Johanessburg where some gang members attacked some Nigerians and looted their shops. They extended the organized attack to Pretoria this week.

Anyene said the South Africans say they are angry with Nigerians residing there for selling illegal drugs to South Africans. Continue...
"Officials of Nigerian mission in South Africa and Union officers went round yesterday to assess the extent of damage done to business centres and shops owned by Nigerians. In Pretoria, 25 shops belonging to Nigerians were attacked and looted by the gang. Ten Nigerians are now receiving treatment in some hospitals while one of them is still in coma. We have reported the incident to the police in the central business district of Pretoria, where the bulk of the attacks took place. The South African police have made entry on our report and pledged to investigate the attacks. We have also appealed to our people (Nigerians) to be calm and law abiding because the Union and the Nigerian mission were handling the situation. As we speak, we have not recorded any attack today, April 4, and everywhere is calm,’’ Anyene said

Policeman’s Children Beat Pregnant Woman To Coma, Parents Support Them

So much injustice taking place in this country because someone is a mere mobile policeman. Lord have mercy. I really just hope this is not true. And if it is, the man needs to leave their little Idimu community and its police station to make complaints at higher quarters. This is unheard of! The story;

Medical doctors in an undisclosed  private  hospital at Idimu area of Lagos,  are currently battling to save the life of a pregnant woman, Mrs. Gloria James who was allegedly  beaten to a state of coma by children of a Mobile Policeman attached to MOPOL 20, Inspector Richard Ekpo, last Friday.

Unfortunately for the woman, efforts by doctors to save her first  two months pregnancy failed .

Mrs. Gloria Oluwatomiwa James was  allegedly  first attacked by one of  the policeman’s  son identified simply as  Olorunda  in front of her shop at  Idimu Mammy market during a verbal confrontation.

Trouble, as gathered, started  when she  demanded for an apology from Olrunda whom she said stepped on her while he was going to smoke Indian hemp from a local dealer around her shop.

Eye witnesses told Crime Guard that  the  area is not only noted for smoking Indian hemp but also a haven for  cultists . Although, there had reportedly been several raids and subsequent arrests by policemen, but that has not stopped  the deed.

Rather than apologise, Olorunda, as  gathered, reportedly was not any remorseful but confronted her.  He allegedly pounced on the pregnant woman for daring to ask him to apologise and gave her a thorough beating.Consequently she was  rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Crime Guard  learnt also that when her husband went to report the ugly development to the Mobile Policeman, he was also attacked by his children.  The seriously wounded woman narrated how the incident happened to Crime  Guard on her hospital bed.

Explaining with difficulty owing to the bruises on her mouth she said, “Last Friday , I was sitting in front of my boutique because there was no light, when a youn g man came to buy   Indian hemp from one of the local dealers around.  As he was trying to  sneak  in to avoid being seen,he stepped on my feet. As I bent to  move his leg,he asked why  I was  touching him rather than apologise.

Even when I showed  him the sand from the sole of his slippers  that was still on my feet, he still insisted that he didn’t step on me. An argument ensued during which he threathened to deal ruthlessly with me if I opened my  mouth to talk again. Before I could respond, he slapped and started hitting me.

“Other  shop owners who came to rescue me from his grips withdrew immediately they discovered he was the one. This is because everyone is afraid of him in that area.  That was how he continued to hit me, even when I ran  inside my shop.   It took the intervention of a policeman in uniform to rescue me from him.”

She continued, “ As  I was nursing my wound , he came back and demanded that I should give him N18, 000 for his gold necklace.  I told him  I didn’t see any necklace on him when he came and before I knew it, he continued from where he stopped.  He went ahead to destroy my wares… At that point, I ran to a corner of the shop and picked up my phone to call my  husband. Immidiately he saw me, he dared me to call anyone ,boasting that he was the son of a Mobile Policeman and that nobody can do anything to him. When I had the opportunity, I sneaked out to  Idimu Police division to lodge a complain.

Police attitude

“Immediately  I told the policemen that I was beaten by the son of a Mobile Policeman, they looked the other way. Then, all of a sudden, I started feeling funny and started vomiting.  Rather than sympathise with me, the policemen at the counter drove me outside, saying I should not mess up the environment. I went outside as directed and sent a text message to my husband  to rush to the station that I was dying.

“When he came, one of the policemen  told him to take me to the hospital. Even when he appealed  to the policemen to effect the arrest of their colleague’s son who was still destroying things in my shop, they refused.

“Out of pity , one of the policemen  whom I contacted earlier drove in with a van and voluntered to take me to the hospital. We, however , went to my husband’s shop first to take some money. On our way back, we stopped by Inspector  Ekpo’s house to inform him of his son’s action. But his wife walked us out of  her compound.

Another attack

Immediately we came out of the barracks gate, we were attacked by Olorunda, his brothers and their friends. They hit my husband with dangerous objects. In the process I fell down. They kicked me continuously on the stomach until I passed out, only to wake up to find myself in the hospital a week after.”

Collaborating her claim, her husband alleged that when he went to report the case at Idimu division, he was thrown inside the cell on the instruction of the Mobile Policeman whose children manhandled his wife. I was released after four days.

“Again, when I went to open my shop, Inspector Akpo came again with his children to attack me, asking who told me to open the shop. I was teargased inside a supermarket where I had run into to take refuge. Since then, I have not opened my shop,” he lamented.

Following this development, Crime Guard reliably gathered that after getting a strongly worded petition, Force Headquarters, Abuja ordered the immediate arrest of Inspector Ekpo while his children are presently on the run.

I cut her neck with cutlass for sacking me' - houseboy who killed magistrate says

David Idah, the houseboy of  retired Chief Magistrate Funmilola Timeyin who killed her at her residence in Laderin Estate in Abeokuta on March 28th says he killed her because she sacked him.

Idah, in an interview with Punch, said he and his boss had a good relationship when he started working with her but they fell out when she started to complain about his attitude. Idah says he wasn't paid his salary and so stole two mobile phones, a DVD player, speakers, perfume, wrist watches, three trousers and four shirts belonging to her son in order to sell them, get money and leave.

She discovered he had stolen these items and invited the police who came in and was about to begin prosecution of the 21 year old Benue indigine when she (Justice Timeyin) pleaded with them to let him off the hook and even wrote a letter of withdrawal to the police. She said she did not want Idah tried but she sacked him and told him not return to work for her again. Continue...

A few days after he was released from police custody and angered by his sack, Idah went to the retired judge's house, scaled the fence, got hold of the cutlass he used for gardening and waited for her to step out of her house and then attacked her with the cutlass, cutting her three times on the neck. She screamed for help which attracted her neighbors and vigilante in the area who caught Idah in the bush behind the house where he had gone to hide and was trying to escape...
Sadly Justice Timeyin died before she could get to the hospital.
Idah was employed by the 65year olf retired chief Magistrate to help around her house since all her children had all grown up and left the house. Idah was yesterday arraigned before the magistrate, Anthony Araba, of the Magistrate Court 1 and pleaded guilty to one count charge of Murder

Sanusi Deserves The Suspension He Got- Dr. Fredrick Fasheun

President and founder of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Dr. Fredrick Fasheun, has said that the suspended Governor of (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi deserved his suspension by President Goodluck Jonathan. Fasehun also described him as an arrogant person and said he built a wall around himself and had no respect for anyone while in power. Below is what he told Daily Sun
“Sanusi has no respect for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and carried on as if he is a law unto himself. The fact that he is a prince does not confer a special statue on him; he is not above the president. Even monarchs are still under the head of state.”

On Sanusi’s challenge of his removal in court, Fasheun said:

“President Goodluck Jonathan is an executive president; he can hire and fire. Sanusi deserved what he got, he deserved his sack by the president. How can you be so arrogant to an executive president of a country like Nigeria?”

He also faulted Sanusi’s claim that his removal from office was not in order:

“He (Sanusi) claimed that President Jonathan does not have the right to remove him; from which book did he read that? He who hires has the right to fire.

“The President has the right to suspend or remove him. If he (Sanusi) has the power to fight back, he can as well suspend the President.”

Fasheun described as mind-blowing, the report of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN), which indicted Sanusi and urged the government to thoroughly investigate him and if found culpable, prosecute and jail him to serve as deterrent to others

'I don't like poor men admiring me' - Fast rising actress, Lizzy Gold

Nollywood actress, Lizzy Gold, says the major criteria for any man to woo her is that he must be rich and that no poor man should even think of admiring her picture, let alone 'toast' her. In a chat with Entertainment Express, Lizzy also said bank alerts turn her on. What she said below...
"A poor man shouldn't even think of admiring my picture, not to talk of wooing me. I love money so much so I can't marry a poor man. I don't even want a man who is merely comfortable. My interest and affection are for millionaires, if possible billionaires. Money means so much to me, in fact money makes me wet. Sometimes when I imagine so much money in my account, I could just get wet. Bank alert is like my best friend. I just need to imagine so much money in my account and I am turned on. When I get a credit alert on my account, Oh my God, I get turned on immediately.
Lizzy says asides having money and being willing to spend it on her, another very important thing she looks out for in a man is that he must be well 'endowed'.

I'll give marriage another shot, but not now." actress Chike Ike says

In a recent interview with Punch, actress Chika Ike said her divorce is in her past and plans to marry again but not immediately.
"I don’t want to talk about the divorce because it is already in the past and I have since moved on. I am still open to marriage and I might give it a second shot because I believe in love. For now, I am most concerned with my own happiness" she said.
The UN ambassador also spoke on the increased rate of failed marriages in Nollywood
"Celebrities also make mistakes. I don’t think they have a bad time combining their successful careers and managing the home front or their marriages on the side".
She also addressed the notion of men being intimidated by single celebrity women
"All the talk about some men being afraid to walk up to a female celebrity and ask her out does not make sense to me. Any man that cannot walk up to me and toast me is not man enough. I don’t have a long list or criteria for my ideal man. All I want is that he must make me happy.” Chika said

Jim Iyke’s Supposed Ex, Habiba Abubakar Speaks About Court Case & Jim’s Late Mom

I really don’t know why this interview was granted, because Jim Iyke just lost his mom. But bestofnollywood.com says Hajiya Habiba Abubakar (whom Jim was rumoured to have dated) granted them the interview, after Jim Iyke’s Mom, who she took care of, passed away few days ago. It was a question and answer session. Find it below;

BON: How did you feel when you heard the death of Jim Iyke’s mother?

Habiba: Well I didn’t feel good  but knowing her fully well, her death is a rest to herself, she has suffered enough.

BON: Your NGO helped her in the past? To what extent was your help to her?

Habiba: Well, I first took her to London for a complete medical check up. She had high blood pressure, high Cholesterol and needed knee replacement, as they said in UK. See copy of her medical report (c/o me). Her consultant suggested that her knee replacement should not take place till she is strong because she was very week. So we allowed her to rest, she stayed in my house for five days then I dropped her at Manchester in her daughters place.

BON: But we heard you took her to India too?

Habiba: Yes we went to India all under my NGO, elderly and the poor. The Mother , Father, Nkechi, Njide and Uche, then later Jim joined us from Cameroon after about Three days. She was admitted in Sir Gangaram Teaching Hospital under the care of Doctor Manish a neurologist because of the stroke she suffered. And the father had a prolonged eye problem, he had a surgery in Kaduna and they rendered one of his eye useless, so I said he too should come and let him get checked. (See picture of hospital admission).

BON: You have done so much for this family, where did it go wrong?

Habiba: You see, nobody will do this to my mum and then I start a fight with that person, my mum will deal with me seriously. You can’t do wrong and include my mum, she will do the right thing even if you will die but this case, the mother was helpless because they do only what their children tell them to do, because they feed them. My mum if you feed her or not she will do the right thing, even if she will go hungry. And they lie a lot this guys, yes! they lie a lot

BON: Has he finished paying your 16.5m?

Habiba: Not yet, we are still in court. The case is even coming up on the 16/4/2014.

BON: Will you forgive him now that the mother is dead?

Habiba: Is not about forgiveness because Mummy is dead. Please don’t join the two issues together. That is Business  investment, how can I forget such an amount? Business with me is Business and gift is gift. This money was an investment for my Children and he must pay it, as simple as that. But I wish Ngozi Gladys Okelue peace ( RIP )

Later today Chris will board a airplane -- guarded by U.S. Marshals and appropriately restrained -- but the flight is NOT a non-stop. In fact, we're told there are so many stops he probably won't get there until Sunday. Continue...
We're told all of these flights go through Oklahoma, with stops along the way to pick up other prisoners.

Chris will be in D.C. for a hearing Monday where his lawyer, Mark Geragos, will try to get the charges dismissed because he believes prosecutors inappropriately used the grand jury to gain an unfair advantage in the criminal case.

Now here's the thing. If Geragos loses, Chris will sit in a D.C. jail facility until his D.C. trial kicks off on April 17.

14-Year Old Girl Married Off As 2nd Wife Rescued From Forced Marriage In Lagos

Husband of the girl, Bashiru Yaya
A 14-year old girl from Niger Republic has been rescued after she was forcefully married to a Bureau de Change operator in Yaba area of Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

The girl (name withheld) was forcefully married to 25-year old Bashiru Yaya also from Niger Republic on 29 December, 2013 while the girl was still in Senior Secondary I at Ansarudden Academy at Randle area of Surulere.

She was married out to be the second wife of Yaya despite the fact that she is a minor and had the ambition of becoming a medical doctor.

Under age marriage contravenes the Lagos State Child Rights Law.

The girl’s parents, Mr Hamidu and Mrs Abibat Ahmed were said to have taken the girl away from school while in SS I and married her out to Yaya after he allegedly paid 300,000 Cefas, which is equivalent to N100,000 to them.

Officials of the Office of Youth and Social Development, Lagos State Government, got wind of it after the girl managed to smuggle a written letter to the office narrating  how she was forced into marriage and her willingness to go back to school.

The government officials went to her house at 57, Little Road, Yaba, to rescue her and later arrested Yaya and the girl’s parents.

The girl was taken into custody of the state government and her  husband was detained temporarily at the Taskforce office, Alausa before they were released later.

In the handwritten letter of the girl, she made it known that she was never interested in the marriage, but that it was her mother, Abibat who spearheaded the whole arrangement against her wish.

“I was in SS I when I was forced into marriage, a marriage I never wanted and I am 14-years old. Never in my life have I thought of marriage when I was in school, although my father never accepted this marriage. It was my mum.

“My dad wanted me to become someone in life for me to be able to help the family the way he is doing. Before this entire marriage proposal started, they asked my dad about it but he said he did not want to give out his daughter in marriage until she finished schooling.

“The marriage took place on 29 December, 2013. I never loved the man and my mum knew about this all along but she refused and I am the man’s second wife,” she explained in her letter.

According to her, when she was in school, somebody closed to her introduced her to the Social Welfare Department of the Office of Youth and Social Development, which came to her rescue.

“I knew I should have found solution to this at the beginning, I thought of running away but I asked myself, would running away solve this?” she said, saying she decided not to run away but to look for other solution.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Social Development, Dr Dolapo Badru said the girl had the ambition of becoming a medical doctor before they married her out to a man who already had a wife.

“They stopped her from going to school and she sneaked out and we were able to rescue her. When we brought them here to my office, we asked the mother questions and she could not say anything. The girl implicated the mother in her petition. Her husband has disvirgined her,” he said.

Badru said the Child Rights law of the state government is against minor being married out and that such act attract punishment according to the law, saying that government would ensure that the future of the girl is secure.
It was gathered that the girl said while she did not want to remain in the marriage and wanted to go to school, she did not want any of her family members jailed by the police over the issue.

As they were taken to the taskforce office, the little girl, thinking that they wanted to detain her parents was said to have changed her story, saying that she loved Yaya and wanted the marriage, only that she wanted to complete her education first contrary to the letter she wrote.

Court orders Financial Reporting Council to stop investigating Sanusi

Justice J. T. Tsoho of the Federal High Court, Lagos, today April 4th ordered the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN) to stop any further investigations it is currently carrying out on the suspended CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido.

The Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria had leveled allegations of financial recklessness and abuse of office on Sanusi and recommended his suspension which was effected on February 20.

The council in its presentation to the president said they found Mr Sanusi's report on the audited financial statement of the CBN for the year ended Dec. 2012 and other related issues unsatisfactory.

Upon his Suspension, Mr Sanusi was invited to a panel set up by the council at Elephant House Ikeja Lagos for questioning on March 27th but failed to turn up. Reports say Sanusi felt the panel was bias and was set out to rubbish his person. He filed a suit that same day asking the court to stop the FRCN from investigating him as it lacked the constitutional power to investigate him. His request was granted by a judge today.

Beyonce's little brother headed to a homeless shelter

A month after Beyonce's father had his child support order for his 3 year-old son Nixon slashed from  $12,000 a month to $2,400 a month, his baby mama, Alexandra, says she and the boy are headed to a homeless shelter. Because of the slash, Matthew Knowles won't have make child support payments the next two years after a court ruled that the $12k he paid for the last three years means he's paid in full until nearly 2016.

Now Nixon's mother says Beyonce hasn't lifted a finger to help. Alexsandra tells In Touch Magazine
“I can’t imagine how Beyoncé feels knowing she has a homeless brother. I know if I were in the same position, I would reach out. Maybe she is too busy.”
“Nixon deserves to know his family, and I hope one day he will meet his sister"
Why not get a job instead of going to a homeless shelter? There are lots of single mums out there getting things done and giving their kids quality life. So if Beyonce wasn't his step sister, nko?
